YARD HOUSE

Northridge, CA – 10,511 square feet
Known for their great food, classic rock and beer selection, this energetic restaurant features a 2 story tap system, showcasing the bar's 180 taps of imported, craft and specialty ales. A glass enclosed keg cooler becomes the heartbeat of the operation. Overcoming the major challenge of incorporating 180 beer lines ultimately proved to be the project's most dramatic feature. Metal conduits housing the beer lines were turned into a functional art piece that runs overhead from beer cooler to bar. To engage patrons, a ribbon of colorful artwork meanders through the space, tying together multiple walls, providing a unique and memorable dining experience. This signature artwork injects life and energy into the industrial space. To enhance the warehouse feel, a restrained palette of metal, concrete, stone and wood was implemented while structural elements remained exposed. These timeless materials compliment the architecture, resulting in a modern yet casual restaurant and bar.
