BAYSIDE KITCHEN + BAR

Imagined by Costa Mesa-based Studio McCormack, the look and feel of the new Bayside Kitchen + Bar marries the quirky charm of the 1950’s with the laid-back beach town spirit for which California’s southernmost city is known. Upon entering, eyes are drawn to the restaurant’s focal point, an expansive bar wrapped in a mosaic of deep blue tile reflecting the familiar hues of the nearby Pacific Ocean and Bay. An extended bar area features open seating and two large communal tables to accommodate larger groups, or to encourage social dining.

Inside the restaurant, old blends with new through the addition of whimsical midcentury modern furnishings in a contemporary color palette of cool blues and greys, with warm wood tones and the occasional pop of vibrant chartreuse. In addition to traditional bar and dining room seating, an adjacent "Living Room" area offers guests an opportunity to drink and dine in comfortable leather sofas and stylish accent chairs surrounded by book shelves and art pieces; an environment meant to encourage guests to relax and stay a while, just like at home. An abundance of unique artwork captures the essence of San Diego with a gallery of images depicting beaches, lifeguard towers and surfboards.

In addition to a variety of indoor dining options, Bayside Kitchen + Bar also takes advantage of San Diego’s perfect weather with a host of outdoor seating. A front patio features casual sofa seating and a large central fire table. The space includes a selection of interactive games including foosball, shuffleboard and giant Jenga, and is available for private events of up to 30 guests.
